Valley of the Cape Fear Council No. 24 Article I - Name The name of this Council shall be VALLEY OF THE CAPE FEAR COUNCIL N0 -24, ALLIED MASONIC DEGREES. Article II - Charter The Secretary shall have custody of the Charter. He shall make it available for display at all meetings of the Council. Article Ill - Communications There shall be four (4) Regular Communications each year, one of which shall be the Annual Communication, held during the month of November. The remaining three Regular Communications shall be held during the months of February, May, and September. All meetings will be held on the third (3rd) Thursday of the month at (7:00PM) except September which shall be held on the fourth (4th) Thursday. The Council will generally meet at the Fayetteville Masonic Center, 2860 Village Drive, Fayetteville, North Carolina 28304 unless circumstances dictate otherwise. In the event of that necessity occurring, the Sovereign Master shall determine an appropriate alternative Masonic venue and give due and timely notice to the membership. Special Communications may be called at the pleasure of the Sovereign Master with Due Notice to the Membership of no less than 10 days. Article IV - Officers The elected officers of this Council shall be: Sovereign Master, Senior Warden, Junior Warden, Treasurer and Secretary. The offices of Treasurer and Secretary may be held concurrently by one Member*. The appointed officers shall be: Chaplain, Senior Deacon, Junior Deacon and Tiler. All officers shall be installed at the Annual Communication or as soon thereafter as practicable. Article V - Membership Membership shall consist of Brethren proposed by any Member of the Council and limited to twenty-seven in number. Each proposal must be a member in good standing in a Royal Arch Chapter. He must receive a clear ballot before an invitation is extended. Article VI - Fees and Dues The Fee for Investiture in this Council shall be $125.00, plus Annual Dues for the year. Annual Dues from each member shall be $SO.OO payable January 1 of each year. A member with unpaid dues for three (3) years may be declared "Unaffiliated" by action of the Council. Article VII - Amendments These By-Laws may be amended, altered or repealed by a two-thirds (2/3) vote of the members present and voting at any Communication of the Council, provided the Secretary has notified each member of such intention in advance in writing.
